Training Resources

This page provides access to Quality Management and Process Improvement training programs available through the United States Army and the Department of Defense.  

  Formal Courses of Instruction
  • Army Logistics Management College  

    The U.S. Army Logistics Management College provides training, seminars and courses in Total Army Quality (TAQ) to meet the Army's needs. In February 1995, the College was assigned the Training Proponency for Total Army Quality by HQ TRADOC. Since 1992, the College has provided recognized and significant education on Quality Management.

    The training, seminars, and courses  are frequently offered at ALMC and other organizations at Fort Lee. This training is available, upon request, for military and civilian personnel at other locations contingent upon scheduling and funding from requesting organization.  Follow this link for more information on ALMC's TAQ related course offerings.

  • Construction Engineering Research Laboratory

The mission of quality at CERL is to continue to provide quality resources for CERL and its customers. The following services are offered: Army Performance Improvement Criteria (APIC) training, organizational assessment, strategic planning, team building, facilitation, resource linkage (videos, journals, books, etc.), employee orientation, facilitator training, conflict management training, team training, interpersonal skill development, human side of quality training, and quality tools training. The TQM Coordinator also shares lessons learned and resources with several organizations and at various conferences throughout the nation, and CERL has taken the lead in the recent adoption of the APIC for Army Communities of Excellence. CERL also provides training and computer application assistance for the Army and the Corps of Engineers.

  Exportable Training Packages

  • TRADOC Common Core TSP 907-A-0001 

  • "Improve organizational effectiveness by using the Total Army Quality (TAQ) Concepts".  This task is trained in both the Officer Advanced Course (OAC) and the Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC). Contents of this TSP are currently available for download in Microsoft Word and Power Point formats.

  Web Based Resources

This is OSD's quality management education and performance support online resource center. This center contains student handouts, instructor guides, training slides, detailed description of quality tools, links to other online resources presenting this information, papers on how to improve organizational performance, case studies and more.

  • Electronic College of Process Improvement 

  • The Electronic College of Process Innovation is an internet knowledge center providing a comprehensive set of documents, tools, and guidebooks on the topic of Business Process Change and Creating Customer Value. As you become familiar with the Electronic Campus, you will be able to easily find and use the information you need...whether you are just a casual but curious browser, a senior executive in need of briefing materials, or an organizational change agent requiring specific tools.
