Mission
The role of Army Audit, and its employees throughout the world, is to assist the US Army in accounting
for and managing the public resources entrusted to it. This is done by providing timely, objective, and
independent auditing in the following functional areas:
- Financial Management
- Contract Management
- Installation Management
- Logistics and Research and Development Programs
- Medical, Environmental, and Safety Programs
- Army Operations, Personnel, and Training Activities
- Intelligence and Security Programs
Our work includes a mix of program, performance and financial audits. In fact, it is not uncommon for
auditors to experience different aspects of the Army such as observing a demolition exercise.
Our engagements focus on the needs of Army managers. We help them make informed decisions, resolve
issues, use resources effectively, and satisfy statutory and fiduciary responsibilities. Over the
last several years, Army Audit's recommendations had the potential to return to the Army $35 in monetary
benefits for each $1 of cost we incurred.
