Career Path
Non-competitive
Promotion
Rapid career
progression within the U.S. Army Audit Agency follows an established career
ladder. A career with the Army Audit usually begins at Level I or Level II
depending on your qualifications. Staff
Auditors do not compete against each other for promotions but have to
perform well against their own performance standards to be promoted.
Based upon the starting
grade when hired and successful performance, auditors may progress from the
Level I or Level II to the Level III, Level IV, and
Auditor positions in three to four years. Promotions above the Auditor
level are competitive.
New auditors enter a
career program designed to train them so they can successfully perform
assigned audit tasks and progress to the Auditor journey-grade level. Professional development and certifications can
further enhance auditor's careers. Competitive advancement to executive and
policy-making positions are open to those who display a high degree of
potential.
Annually approximately
40% of Army Audit Agency employees are recognized for exceptional
performance through time-off and monetary awards.
Competitive
Promotion/Selection Guidance for Supervisory Auditor Positions
The agency generally
fills vacancies above the Auditor journey grade level through the
competitive selection process. Vacancies are announced through the OPM and
Army Civilian Personnel Online (CPOL) websites at USAjobs or CPOL. The area of consideration for
these positions is normally limited to current Federal employees. If you
currently hold a 0511 position at these levels and wish to receive
noncompetitive consideration, you can either apply as a lateral candidate
through the competitive announcement process or you can request
noncompetitive consideration through the human resources department by
emailing your resume and last SF50 to usarmy.pentagon.hqda-aaa.mbx.aaa-recruiter@mail.mil.
Management has the discretion to make selections from either source.
