Frequently Asked Questions
WHO CAN JOIN? All active duty, retired, reserve military, and Department of Defense civilian employees
who work at the Pentagon are eligible to become members.
WHERE IS IT?
The Pentagon Athletic Center (PAC) is located on the
Mezzanine level, Corridor 7. Take
elevators 73, 74, or 75,
or stairway 74, and then follow the
signage on the walls.
There is also an exterior entrance from the north parking lot.
WHAT DO WE PROVIDE?
The PAC provides physical fitness facilities
and fellowship for Department of Defense military and civilian
employees. A non-appropriated fund activity operated by the
Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army,
Support Services, Washington, the PAC is supported by member
dues.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS? The PAC is open weekdays 0530-2130,
weekends and government holidays 0800-1730. Doors remain open
1/2 hour past these times to allow members to shower, dress and exit
the center. We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New
Year's Day.

HOW CAN I JOIN AND WHAT IS THE COST? The PAC offers a wide variety of
physical fitness activities, a value that cannot be matched by any
other dues supported facility. All active duty, retired,
reserve military and Department of Defense civilian employees are
eligible to become members. Dues may be paid annually or in
semi-annual installments:

You may
also join for daily, weekly, or monthly periods.

| Eligible
DOD personnel may join for weekly or monthly periods at a cost of
$10.00 per week or $30.00 per month. Personnel on TAD/TDY
(with orders) may use the facility at a cost of $10.00 per week or
$20.00 per month. If you should PCS or decide to terminate
your membership for any reason, the balance of your dues are
refundable upon written request. Your membership is valid at
both the PAC main facility as well as the PAC annex. The E1-O3
program also applies at the PAC annex.
Eligible non-member
are charged a fee of $4.00 for daily use or $1.00 for PT test.

LOCKERS?
All 1/4 size and a portion of the 1/2 size
lockers are permanently assigned. Remaining 1/2 size lockers are for
temporary use.

RACQUETBALL AND SQUASH
COURT RESERVATIONS?

Court reservations may be called in 24 hours in advance in person
or by calling

Players must be present to claim a court.

Court time is forfeited if
players are 5 minutes late.

Challenge courts are limited to 2
consecutive games per player for racquetball/handball and 3 consecutive games for squash.

Players may recycle but must sign up
when others are waiting.

Open play court reservations are not
required.

Guidelines for the use of the facility for physical
readiness tests are posted in the PAC
lobby.
BADMINTON AND VOLLEYBALL COURT RESERVATIONS?

Court reservations must be made 24 hours in advance in person or
by calling

Courts may be reserved for a maximum of 90 minutes.

Only one reservation per member, per day, per sport.

Members cannot make reservations for other members.

Court time is forfeited if players are 5 or more minutes late.

Other than open play, either sport may be played.

Players are responsible for set-up and clean-up.
Reservation sheets are kept at the
trailer entrance. Members may reserve courts anytime (except
"Open Play" times), Monday through Friday between 05:30 and 21:30
hours. On weekends and holidays courts may be reserved between
08:00 and 17:30 hours. Open play times are Monday
through Friday between 10:00 and 14:00 hours, and weekends between
11:00 and 14:00 hours.
